I can go on and on about Smith Commons because I think that it is the best restaurant in DC. They have a very nice and friendly staff with a super cool upstairs lounge area. I enjoy the different music on each floor and also the poetry nights.
My favorite things on the menu include the mac & cheese, stirfry wings, salmon burger and pretty much anything on the brunch menu.
Favorite drink: Felicity watermelon -

Went to Smith Commons for my birthday brunch. We had a party of 12 and there was another large party, but in total there were less than 70 people in the restaurant.
When we got there our reservation was not in the system despite a 5 email exchange with the manager confirming it. We were finally seated; our table ordered bottomless but they were terrible at refilling our glasses and when we asked them to leave a pitcher they said no even though they were not refilling themselves. One of my friends did not get her meal (they did comp it because it didn't come out with the other food). My partner ordered an omelette add bacon and sent it back because we thought there was no bacon in it. They brought it back out after multiple people talking over it because there was bacon in it, but they had stuck one whole strip on one side of the omelette. Not to be picky but who had ever heard of not chopping up omelette ingredients?!?!
We also waited over 40 minutes for the check. Worst brunch ever. They clear have no system in place and are not equipped to serve. -

I've been here twice now, for brunch and happy hour. I really enjoyed the food and service I received at brunch. Smith Commons gives an intimate and cozy vibe.
Their happy hour specials are decent. $2 off select apps and drinks. I came with a large group, so I ended up ordering from the bar. I had the chicken tacos. I thought they were good but not worth $13 for 2 tacos. -

I've been to this restaurant a couple times, but only once to order food. My friend and I got a charcuterie board, which I would highly recommend. It was filled with really great cheeses, my favorite part, and also fruits and meats. The staff was very friendly, although a bit slow. I believe there's restaurant seating downstairs, but upstairs has more casual seating and also a rooftop deck.

Went to Brunch for the first time at Smith Commons when my family was in town. And I will say that we were not disappointed! I ordered the Hanger Asada, my cousins ordered the Smith's Hangover, Grits and Challah French Toast. We all had the bottomless bellinis.
The food was quick and delicious, my steak came out a warm, but I didnt complain because it was so good, and not to mention the guacamole puree- that was the icing on the cake! I will say the waiter kept the glasses full(very much appreciated), but the bellinis skewed more like a mimosa(coloring was cloudy and orang-ish) but I think it was pre-made.
I would recommend Smith Commons to other and will definitely personally be back for brunch.
